ACTA promotes the value of a Travel Agent at Ottawa’s Travel and Vacation consumer show

Ottawa’s 22nd Travel and Vacation Show took place this past weekend April 9th and 10th at the Convention Centre in downtown Ottawa. Fiona Bowen, Ontario Regional Manager, along with Ontario council members Lisa Perkins of Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Norm Payne CTM of Uniglobe Premiere were on hand to deliver the message – “Without a Travel Agent You are On Your Own!” With a packed attendance it was the perfect opportunity to promote the reasons why consumers should use a travel agent when making their travel plans – expert advice, personal attention, peace of mind, convenience, time savings and trust. Visitors were also very impressed to learn that travel agents in Ontario alone sold over $12 billion in 2015.

Consumers who visited the ACTA booth were given a list of ACTA member agencies in the Ottawa, Kingston, Cornwall, Brockville area and they were reminded of the value of booking with an ACTA member agency and a trusted, professional travel agent. “The Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show is one of the best consumer shows in Ontario stated Fiona Bowen, Ontario Regional Manager.” “Consumers come to the show to learn about different destinations and are so engaged and excited to be planning their next trip.” “ACTA is proud to be a supporter of this event and more importantly it’s a great opportunity to promote the value of booking through an ACTA travel agent.” “The message was really quite simple – Expert Advice. Time. Personal Service and the fact that someone is there for you when things go wrong. Now who can put a price on that?”
