Fun at the ACTA BC/Yukon Travel Industry Golf Tournament
The Annual ACTA BC/Yukon Travel Industry Golf Tournament was held at the Northview Golf and Country Club in Surrey, BC on Wednesday, June 17th, 2015. This year’s title sponsor was the Air Canada Group of Companies. The weather was perfect and the day was enjoyed by both the golfers and the guests that arrived later in the afternoon for the cocktail reception and dinner.
The tournament’s 1st place team with the lowest gross score of 17 under par was Don Renshaw Sr, Don Renshaw Jr, Will Eddy and Tim Mooney from Renshaw Travel in Vancouver. The evening’s top prize winners were Richard O’Shiro from Outrigger Resorts (2 passes on Air Canada to anywhere in Canada), Robert Lee from CMW Insurance Services Ltd. (2 passes on Air Canada to anywhere in North America) and Lorill Fochaey from Metro Travel & Tours Ltd. (2 passes on Air Canada to anywhere in Asia). Other prizes included Cathay Pacific to New York, Philippine Airlines to New York, Allegiant/Alio to Las Vegas, Canadian North and Helijet tickets plus other fabulous prizes!
David McCaig, ACTA President and COO, was the MC for the evening and presented the Ches Chard Award to Expedia CruiseShipCenters. Expedia CruiseShipCenters had been named for this ACTA award the night prior in Toronto during the Travel MarketPlace conference. Regrettably representatives were not available to accept the award in Toronto but proudly accepted when we were able to catch up with them in BC. This Award was established in memory of Ches Chard who played a key role in developing numerous educational programs within the industry. The Award was awarded Expedia CruiseShipCenters for demonstrating a significant commitment to professionalism, education and training and excellence in human resources management.
Marlene Brown, ACTA Regional Manager BC/Yukon along with Edna Ray, Regional Sales Manager BC Air Canada executed the prize draws while Duncan Bureau, Vice President Global Sales Air Canada was also in attendance to meet and greet all the attendees at the throughout the day and at the reception.
