Nayarit, Colima - Flavors of the Sea

Nayarit and Colima are known for the great variety in seafood products. In Nayarit go fishing in the mangroves and then have prepared at the local restaurant what you caught. Visit an oyster farm and appreciate the preparation of oysters and different recipes in a nearby restaurant.

Colima is one of the main producers of coffee in the country. During your visit you’ll get the opportunity to visit a coffee plantation and learn the process of coffee production. Hidalgo holds the roots of Mexico’s national identity and it’s a state worth visiting for its gastronomic delicacies and exotic cuisine. For those with an exotic palate escamoles and chinicuiles are a must-try. Escamoles, ant eggs, are one of Mexico’s finest and most exquisite dishes that can be prepared in a variety of ways. Chinicuiles, are red caterpillars found in the maguey plant that can be grilled and eaten in a taco or sope, both made with corn.
