What’s the latest on CRA CERB audits and recalls?

Several Independent Travel Advisors (ITAs) have shared with ACTA their experiences with recent Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) funding audits and recalls initiated by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Most ITAs who reached out to us confirmed that they received notifications through their online CRA account, and that they had responded to CRA and provided the information requested. 

ITAs also reported long delays – weeks, even months – in receiving follow-up communication from CRA once their information was submitted. While CRA’s review process and schedule is unclear, ITAs who urgently wish to receive an update on their file should consider speaking with their Member of Parliament (MP) who may be able to engage the agency for an update on their behalf.
