What is Your familiarity of NDC?

NDC stands for the New Distribution Capability, an XML (or computer language) standard created by the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) to allow the delivery of airline ancillaries and rich content to customers. The IATA initiative has been in and out of the news for more than 7 years with many stakeholders offering opinions on the benefits, disadvantages and difficulties. ACTA, along with other global travel agency associations, were quite critical of its launch in the early days. Fast forward to 2019, adoption of NDC remains slow.  In the last few weeks, there seems to be a growing surge of trade press (see the following articles below) about NDC, which prompted ACTA to ask our members: What is your familiarity with NDC?  ACTA would like to know your level of understanding and how, if need be, we can help bridge the gap. If you have any feedback on the matter, we welcome hearing from you by September 6, 2019. ACTA will be participating in a panel discussion at the Canada Aviation Summit September 9-10 in Winnipeg on the topic Distribution and Selling Challenges: NDC to the Rescue?
