ACTA hosts Toronto Pearson Airport Tour

In conjunction with ACTA Corporate Partner, the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA),  a behind the scenes tour of Toronto Pearson Airport was developed, which allowed Certified Members (CTM) and select Travel and Tourism students from ACTA Endorsed Schools to experience the spirit of the airport first-hand.

The tour allowed members to understand the ins and outs of the airport and what it takes to keep the airport safe, secure and operating efficiently and effectively each and every day. Members were able to experience and be part of the live action on the apron and out on the airfield via a bus ride around Pearson’s major aviation hub. They were able to learn about security procedures and processes conducted by the airport’s K9 unit and CATSA officers. They were provided with an understanding of the communication exchanges and requirements that take place between the control tower to flight and ground crews, minute by minute. The tour also allowed for a stop for lunch at Pearson’s Premiere Plaza Lounge, allowing for an in person, hands on view of their online platform which left everyone nothing short of amazed.

The tour was well received and noted by all participants as a great educational opportunity and one that has broaden their knowledge of the airport operations and how to better serve their clients.
