President’s Message: Advocacy Continues as Our Industry Prepares to Gather

This week, I submitted ACTA’s 2026 federal pre-budget submission, advancing six practical recommendations to strengthen Canada’s retail travel sector. I also participated in a Justice Canada roundtable on complex financial crimes that brought together national associations from across the Canadian economy.  I highlighted the international and cross-jurisdictional complexity of travel fraud, identity theft and AI-enabled crime, as well as the serious consequences for travel agencies and travel advisors. We are also analyzing the results of ACTA’s member advocacy survey. I look forward to sharing key findings during my opening remarks at our upcoming Summits.
