As we come to the close of 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on a year of progress, resilience, and renewed momentum for Canada’s travel agencies and travel advisors.

The travel landscape continues to evolve quickly, yet one thing remains clear: the role of travel agencies and professional travel advisors has never been more important—or more valued. Travellers are increasingly seeking trusted expertise, personalized service, and informed guidance, and ACTA members are meeting that demand with professionalism and care.

Throughout the year, ACTA has remained focused on what matters most to you: strong advocacy, meaningful collaboration with industry partners, and continued investment in education and professional standards. In a challenging geopolitical and economic environment, we have worked to ensure that travel agencies and advisors are supported, heard, and positioned to remain competitive and future-ready.

Advocacy remains at the core of ACTA’s mandate. Our priorities continue to include regulatory modernization, financial sustainability, and workforce development—key pillars for building a healthy, resilient travel-advisory ecosystem. At the same time, we remain committed to strengthening education and certification pathways, as well as accessible bilingual training, to support our members at every stage of their careers.

As President, my leadership approach is grounded in collaboration, transparency, and service. Listening to our members and representing voices from coast to coast to coast is a responsibility I take seriously. ACTA is strongest when it reflects the diversity, experience, and shared purpose of its community.

I thank you, our valued ACTA members, for your continued membership, confidence, and engagement. Your support strengthens our collective voice and reinforces ACTA’s ability to advocate effectively on behalf of travel agencies and travel advisors across Canada. As we look ahead to 2026, we encourage members to watch for our upcoming referral program, designed to invite industry colleagues to join our growing community. Together, we are one voice—stronger, more united, and more impactful.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to the dedicated ACTA team for their hard work, professionalism, and commitment throughout the year. To support their well-being and ensure continued excellence, the ACTA office will be closed from December 25 through January 1, inclusive, allowing the team time to rest and recharge. Please know that we will continue to keep a watchful eye on any time-sensitive matters requiring immediate attention. The team will return in the new year ready to hit the ground running—fully prepared to represent, serve, and lead our industry with renewed energy and focus.

Wishing you a successful close to 2025 and continued momentum ahead.

Suzanne Acton-Gervais
President, ACTA
