Dear ACTA Members,

In my first two months as President, I have seen firsthand the strength and professionalism of our team and community. ACTA is moving with purpose—delivering results, advocating for our industry, and creating opportunities that bring real value to members.

Our recent Summits in Toronto and Vancouver clearly demonstrated this momentum. The energy in the room, the engagement of our travel agency and travel advisor community, our partners, and the letter of recognition from Premier Ford underscored ACTA’s central role in Ontario and Canada’s tourism economy.

We now turn to Montréal on October 1 for the French edition of our Annual Summit—an important forum for learning and connection. There is still time to register, and I encourage members to take part.

Strengthening ACTA’s team to best serve our members is also a priority. I am pleased to announce the promotion of Marco Pozzobon to Vice-President, Strategic Partnerships and Business Development. We also welcomed Yacine Bimich to the ACTA team as Membership Manager (Bilingual), who will lead French engagement nationwide with a special focus on Quebec.

Over the past weeks, I met with our Board of Directors to align on strategic priorities and met with Destination Canada and the Future Borders Coalition to explore areas of collaboration. I also engaged with senior leaders at ICAO’s triennial assembly, including Canada’s Minister of Transport and other dignitaries, and met with senior staff from the Office of Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre to reinforce our advocacy priorities; and with international partners, including John Concannon, Ambassador of Ireland, at the Irish Embassy in Ottawa, in honour of the visit of An Taoiseach Micheál Martin (Ireland’s Prime Minister), as well as Alison Metcalfe, Executive Vice-President and Head of North America, Australia, and New Zealand for Tourism Ireland. These engagements continue to strengthen relationships that benefit our members.

ACTA’s mission is clear: to advocate, educate, promote, and connect on behalf of Canada’s travel agencies and travel advisors. With the support of our members, we will continue to lead with strength and vision.

I look forward to welcoming many of you in Montréal on October 1.

Sincerely,

Suzanne
