Last week, ACTA was on the global stage in Singapore, actively representing the interests of Canadian travel agencies and advisors at two high-level international meetings.

First, ACTA’s Director of Advocacy and Industry Relations, Avery Campbell, attended the Passenger Agency Program Global Joint Council (PAPGJC) - a crucial forum where airline and agency representatives from around the world come together under the International Air Transport Association (IATA) framework. The focus of the meeting was on proposed resolutions affecting the Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) - the financial backbone of agency-airline transactions worldwide. Avery, alongside our international counterparts, worked to ensure that agency and advisor voices were heard, emphasizing fairness, transparency, and operational efficiency in the evolving BSP landscape.

Following the PAPGJC meeting, Avery also represented Canada at the World Travel Agents Associations Alliance (WTAAA) Air Matters Committee meeting. This global committee tackled key strategic issues impacting air distribution and the airline-agency relationship. A major outcome of this session was the development of a new collaborative strategy aimed at better aligning value chain partners - a step forward in redefining the modern airline-agency dynamic and ensuring mutual value for all stakeholders involved.

ACTA remains committed to strong global advocacy and will continue working to protect and advance the interests of Canadian travel agencies and travel advisors on the international stage.
