CTC/CTM Equivalency and Conversion Pathway

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors (ACTA) recognizes select travel advisor certifications from other jurisdictions and organizations as equivalent to its Certified Travel Counsellor (CTC) and Certified Travel Manager (CTM) designations, subject to established equivalency requirements.

This pathway provides an opportunity for eligible travel professionals that already have recognized credentials in the travel industry – such as certifications like Certified Travel Associate (CTA) or Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) offered by the Travel Institute of the United States – to seek the designation of ACTA CTC or CTM without retaking classes that were already taken before.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the CTC or CTM Equivalency and Conversion Pathway, applicants must:

• Hold a valid travel advisor certification recognized as equivalent to ACTA’s CTC or CTM designation.
• Be currently employed in the Canadian travel industry.
• Agree to uphold ACTA’s Code of Ethics.
• Provide an Employer Verification Letter confirming current or recent employment.

The conversion fee for eligible applicants is $180 CAD, plus applicable taxes. Eligible applicants who are approved through the conversion process will receive their ACTA CTC or CTM designation and may renew their membership annually under the applicable certified member category.
