Richard Vanderlubbe wins Gerald Heifetz Trailblazer Award

There are giants in Canada’s travel industry but only one titan and it is Richard Vanderlubbe! His efforts, contributions and commitment are consistent  and well respected.

Richard is an ACTA Ontario council member, was Chair of ACTA Ontario and ACTA Canada in the past, has lead the ACTA professional service fee survey, and been an active team member with three travel industry government submissions. Richard is the Vice-Chair for the TICO Board of Directors and has served on the board for many years. In 2015 Richard spearheaded the request to the Ontario government to look at overhauling the Travel Industry Act, he is chairman of TICO’s Legislation and Regulation committee, the Executive committee, the Business Strategy committee, the Alternative Finance committee and the E-Commerce committee, plus he was a representative on the selection committee for the new CEO of TICO.  In addition Richard  is  on the Advisory council for Travel Market Report in New York.

Richard’s vim and vigor is boundless; he is popular and charismatic, knowledgeable and prescient, funny, thoughtful and considerate.  Richard has contributed to the employment and wellbeing of over 180 people in 27 offices at Tripcentral.ca. And, he does a drop dead impersonation of Gary Sadler!
