High-risk activities onboard cruise ships may not be covered with standard travel insurance

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Cruise vacation clients look to travel insurance to protect themselves, however they may not realize that participating in certain activities – like rock-climbing and surfing –while onboard the ship can lead to a claim denial, says travel insurance comparison site Squaremouth.

Rock climbing and surfing are commonly excluded, notes Squaremouth.com. “Now cruise lines are offering onboard simulators of these and other activities. So while, in the past, the only worry while on a cruise was overeating or getting a sunburn, there are now a few other things travellers need to consider.”
