President's Podium: Working Well With IATA ... Today :-)

I am pleased with the way we have been communicating with IATA over the past year. They have been listening to ACTA and my counterparts on the topic of NDC and most recently have been open to our input as it relates to the DISH 22.0 implementation.

DISH is the global data interchange standard implemented by all Billing Settlement Plans (BSPs) to ensure consistency and the exchange of the highest possible quality data between BSPs and GDSs, airlines and other business partners. The DISH provides the passenger travel industry with a set of standard formats to support the reporting of Passenger sales and ticketing data for settlement purposes.

In order to sucessfully implement the new DISH 22.0 format, a travel agency has to meet certain technical requirements within their back office to ensure "DISH 22.0 HOT files" can be processed. A deadline for this implementation was set for June 1st.

We approached IATA on behalf of 372 ACTA members who were affected by this new standard to explain to them that the deadline was agressive and members were at serious risk of not being able to meet it in time. Through these conversations IATA decided to extend the deadline to August 1st giving those affected a new timeline to prepare for DISH 22.0. The following link provides all the details MORE>>>
