ACTA announces its new Director of Education: Maggie Santos

I’m pleased to announce that Maggie Santos will join our team as ACTA’s new Director of Education and Certification. Maggie will begin her new role on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 and comes to ACTA with over 15 years of learning, development and certification experience!

This engagement reflects our key objectives set out by ACTA to better serve our members across the country, and make significant progress on our Education pillar. We remain focused in providing new tools in learning and development as well as advancing our current training and certification programs. We truly believe that providing continuing education is an integral component to a travel professional's development.

Prior to joining ACTA, Maggie has a Masters in Education and has worked in learning and development roles with organizations including Research in Motion (RIM - Blackberry), Christine Medical Holdings, and the Canadian Welding Association. Maggie’s experience includes developing corporate training programs in various formats including classroom training, online learning and blended learning programs; and for the past three years she has played a leadership role in the development of a national certification program for welding apprentices collaborating with industry, education and government.

Maggie's expertise in training and development will support in elevating our focus on education and she will be an essential member of our ACTA team. Please join us in welcoming Maggie Santos as her new role as the Director of Education and Certification with the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies.
