It’s golf tourney season at ACTA and the MB and SK events were both a great success.

MB Golf Tourney
The 22nd annual MB event was held on June 3rd at the Rossmere Golf Club in Winnipeg and was blessed with a beautiful sunny day. Thanks must first go to title sponsor, Winnipeg Free Press, who has been an annual supporter of this golf tourney. We were proud to welcome 20+ additional sponsors who contributed cash, prizes, people, food and beverages, all adding to the fun atmosphere for which the MB event is known.
Thanks to our sponsors that donated air passes and trips as prizes and congratulations to our winners:

Calm Air passes – Roseanne Day, TPI
Ball Tour—Buenos Aires lodging, tour & show -– Trish Middleton, Continental Travel
WestJet passes – Shirley Noel, TPI

Thanks to the ACTA Golf Committee, chaired by Clint Remarchuk, for all their creative input and volunteer efforts that gives the MB event its unique personality. And to our volunteers from Robertson College and WAA Goldwings whose help is invaluable in attending to all the tourney details.

SK Golf Tourney

The SK event took place on June 19th with the tournament returning to its origins at Elbow SK. David Lafayette, TravelGuard, recognized Sharon Kaendo who had been involved in that first event in the late 90s and her role in leading the SK tournaments up to 2013. The winning team hailed from Westjet led by John Pease who later presented the grand prize WestJet passes to the winner - retiring Council member Ed Buchholz, Uniglobe. Thanks to Arla Delver and the student volunteers from Academy of Learning College for their assistance.

Presentation of the Maguire-Wamsley Award
A highlight during dinner was the presentation of the Bonita Maguire-Wamsley Award to our hard-working tourney chair Cynthia Wong. This award is presented to the individual that achieves the highest mark on the CTM Management Work Paper and working in an ACTA member agency.
Cynthia completed her CTC in 1980 and when CITC integrated with ACTA in 2013, Cynthia was the first one to rise to the challenge and complete her CTM – and achieved the highest mark! Congratulations Cynthia!
