Halifax Stanfield among the world's best airports

Halifax Stanfield International Airport has been rated by passengers to be among the world's best airports by the Skytrax World Airport Awards.

• 3rd Best Airport in the World for its size (under 5 million passengers)
• 8th Best Airport in North America
• 7th Best Domestic Airport in the World (the only Canadian airport in the top 10 in this category)
• 4th Best Regional Airport in North America
• 6th Best Airport Staff in North America

"Everyone in the airport community should be very proud of these accomplishments and we are honoured to receive this recognition from air travellers," says Joyce Carter, Halifax International Airport Authority President & CEO. "These awards, especially being acknowledged as having one of North America's best airport staff, demonstrate the dedication and hard work of all our partners in providing a superior level of customer service," says Carter.

Travellers across 112 countries take part in the Skytrax World Airport Awards, the world's largest annual airport passenger satisfaction survey.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards are based on over 13 million customer nominations covering more than 550 airports worldwide. The survey evaluates the customer satisfaction across 39 key performance indicators for airport service and product features, from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping and immigrations, through to departure at the boarding gate. These awards are known in the travel industry as the Passenger's Choice Awards and were announced recently at the 2015 Passenger Terminal Expo in Paris.

At the same time, Halifax Stanfield maintained its Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Assured certification, making it one of only 17 airports in the world to reach this pinnacle of passenger satisfaction.

"Achieving this recognition is a testament to the focus of all our partners – airlines, tenants, retailers, volunteers, all levels of government and the dedicated employees of Halifax International Airport Authority," says Carter. "We should all take great pride in our airport and the recognition we continue to receive on an international scale."
