Promoting the value of ACTA members

The following article was brought to our attention with concerns of agency bypass. A Delta Airlines “fare sale” honouring Canada’s Sesquicentennial is offering discounted fares for travel to and from 11 Canadian destinations. The original campaign call to action was for customers to link “directly to delta.com” with no mention of the Travel Agency alternative. 

When a supplier bypasses the Travel Agent, ACTA moves to engage the supplier with a friendly reminder of the value Travel Agents bring to the consultation and sale of their travel products. We are happy to share that in this instance, following our conversations with Delta, an ammendment to their call to action was made to include a statement “or call a travel agency in Canada”.
