ALERT: Consumer protection BC

Effective immediately, Consumer Protection BC (CPBC) has revoked the travel licence of Golden Travel Ltd. They are also issuing a warning about doing business with Golden Travel and its owner, Lily Lau (a.k.a. Chuen Kuen Lau). We believe any individual or business who buys travel from her is putting themselves at risk. 

CPBC has also issued a compliance order and an administrative penalty of $2,000 against Catway Travel Ltd, located in Richmond BC, for knowingly doing business with Golden Travel and Lau when the travel agent licence for Golden Travel was suspended and no longer valid. 

Travel agents in BC must not knowingly carry on business in BC with a travel agent or wholesaler who doesn’t hold an active licence with Consumer Protection BC. When a person or business has had their licence suspended, they remain the holder of a licence; however, they are no longer licensed to engage in the sale of travel services.
 
If you know of business who has failed to fulfill a financial commitment to you, you must report that to us (per section 10 of the Travel Industry Regulation).

Please note: The Lily Lau mentioned above is not the same Lily Lau who is associated with Ooola Travel in Vancouver, BC.
