ACTA hosts Culinary Tour in BC

On Wednesday, November 23rd, ACTA held a member Appreciation Event in Vancouver, BC. Member agency owners and managers were invited to join ACTA for a culinary adventure in the Gastown district of Vancouver. The event sponsor for the evening was Air Canada and included guests from ACTA partners Manulife & Enterprise.

Three local culinary hot spots were visited. First, all gathered at Salt Tasting Room and ACTA President Wendy Paradis welcomed guests and introduced ACTA BC/YK council members.
On the Menu: BC charcuterie plate of Ash Camembert with local honey, Sour Tuscan Salami with conichons and Corned beef with Guinness mustard paired with a BC wine flight of Synchromesh Riesling, Haywire Pinot Gris and Alderlea Foch.

The second stop was at the Irish Heather pub where Manulife and Enterprise welcomed guests and gave a quick update to those in attendance.
On the menu was an option of Quarter Roast Chicken with Gravy or Vegan Pot Pie paired with a16oz Phillips Blue Buck or Orchard Hill Red Roof Cider.

To cap off the culinary tour, guests were escorted to the Wildebeest restaurant where Air Canada addressed the crowd and prizes were drawn for two North American passes won by Deborah Charles, CTC and 2 System Wide passes won by Sandy Kollenz.
On the menu were smoked olives, poutine bowl, crispy calamari and a lemon curd tart paired with an Aperol Spritz cocktail.

The evening was lively and well received. The weather was perfect for short walks between restaurants and raised money in support of Tourism Cares, an ACTA endorsed charity where each donation offered the donor a chance to win a selection of BC wine which was won by Katherine Yung.
