President's Podium: Airport Fees
To our valued membership. A moment to say thank you. Thank you for the time you take to read my letters. I hope you find value and at times, entertainment in the content I share with you.
This week I'd like to share a release published by TIAC on June 6 titled "Senate Committee Recommendations Would Increase Air Travel and Lower Travel Costs". In this release TIAC stated "If acted upon, the recommendations in the report of the Senate Standing Committee on Transport and Communications on Canada's aviation sector will increase passengers and decrease the cost of air travel in our country"
David Goldstein, President and CEO of TIAC went on to add "The recommendations in this report provide smart policy fixes that would allow our travel and tourism sector to thrive, providing economic growth and creating jobs across the country."
Why do I find this release relevant? It is exactly in line with ACTA's work over the past years. We have been echoing this sentiment through letters to the Minister of Transport and kits, (french, english) that our members can reference in discussions with political leaders in their communities. We are confident that we can all benefit from a cohesive national air strategy assuming the airlines who benefit directly pass along the savings to the consumer.
A copy of full report can be found on the TIAC website and you can get there by clicking here. This is a great article that provides in detail the 6 recomendations that were made by the comittee.
Please take a moment to review. I think you will find the infomation of value.
Sincerely![]()
