Similar to hotel star rating systems, a travel program receives stars based on the number of inclusions it offers, for example: travel services specific curriculum hours, field placement, live GDS training.
If a travel program does not meet all the criteria for Full Endorsement then Provisional Endorsement may be granted for a maximum of two years, while they works towards satisfying the additional criteria.

Tourism & Travel Program: Fanshawe College offers a two-year Ontario College Diploma and Co-operative Education program offered in 4 academic semesters and 1 co-op term. Customer Sales and Service, Flights and Fares, Group Tour Management, Industry Insight, Global Distribution Systems and International Field Study are among the exciting career-related courses a student will explore. Graduates of this well-respected program go on to work in retail travel agencies, with airline or tour companies, resorts and hotels, tourist attractions, visitor and convention centers and the list goes on.
Tourism-Travel Studies (online): Fanshawe College’s Tourism - Travel Studies program is a one-year Ontario College Certificate designed for students seeking a career in the travel industry.
The curriculum will focus on the fundamentals of travel consulting including customer sales and service, travel business operations, travel systems software, and emerging technology trends. Graduates of this program will have the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level customer service positions in the hospitality and tourism industry such as travel agent, reservations agent, front-desk agent, and other customer service representatives. Graduates will also be prepared to write the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) exam.
This program will be offered online with continuous intake options.

Travel & Tourism Diploma Program: A leading edge curriculum providing skills for a wide range of supervisory and operational jobs in the tourism field. Graduates will be trained on a wide range of industry technologies and e-commerce management functions. Dedicated technology labs give student "hands-on" experience using both simulated and real-time industry models for airline, tour operators and retail travel agency networks. Students may focus on retail or wholesale tour operations by selecting specific courses of interest as they move into their final two semesters.
The Travel Agency Operations Online certificate program has been designed for mature individuals who wish to enter into a mainly retail aspect of the travel industry. Courses offered in this program will prepare individuals for employment in the travel agencies, consolidators and airlines. Emphasis will be on those specific skills required by the competent travel professional. The online delivery offers an opportunity to complete this program on your own schedule.

The curriculum is designed to encourage students to develop skills, knowledge and behaviours required to work in the leisure, cruse and corporate travel sector. The program's history of graduate success is due in part to the emphasis that is placed on the development of skills that are valued by employers in this dynamic and expanding industry.
Students in the Leisure and Corporate Travel Option will complete a field placement practicum in the fourth semester. As an alternative, students meeting the 3.0 Grade Point Average and further requirements can apply to a co-op work term.
