This landmark exhibition will take you on a journey through the mysteries of the Maya – the sacred roles of their divine rulers, their elaborate writing and counting systems, their cycles of life and death… and the truth behind the 2012 end-of-days legend. Travel back in time to the heart of a Maya city over 1000 years ago, and discover the many secrets behind the mysteries surrounding the Ancient Maya Classic Period (250 – 900 CE). The exhibition brings together a collection of nearly 250 original Mayan artifacts – most selected from numerous Mexican museums in the Yucatan Peninsula region where the Maya mainly lived.
