Subject: ACTA Board Nominations


The Nominating Committee is responsible for presenting a Board of Directors slate to members to ensure ACTA is governed with excellence and vision and has begun the process.

Part V – Directors of ACTA's by-laws describe the qualifications and other details on the terms and conditions on the position of Director. The first step is to seek applications as follows:

Nominating Procedure

  1. No fewer than 9 weeks prior to ACTA's annual general meeting, the Nominating Committee shall seek in writing to Members, the names of eligible Members to consider for possible nomination as Directors for the available positions. This notice will consist of an application process for potential Directors.

  2. Applications to the Board of Directors must be signed by the applicant and be received at least 8 weeks prior to ACTA's annual general meeting (April 21, 2017).

  3. The Nominating Committee shall consider all applications and the proposed slate of Directors will be circulated to all Members, at least 6 weeks prior to ACTA's annual general meeting (April 28, 2017).

  4. Should a Member wish to stand for election for an available position in the proposed slate they shall obtain a nomination form from ACTA. The nomination form, signed by at least five voting Members, may be submitted to the Nominating Committee no later than 4 weeks prior to ACTA's annual general meeting (May 12, 2017).

Completed applications and outlines must be received at ACTA by 5:00 p.m., EDT on Friday, April 21, 2017.
